Welcome to Jennifer Stano Fine Art!

Art has the power to transport, transform and empower. As a predominantly abstract artist working in oil on canvas, my work is deeply connected to the natural, spiritual and emotional worlds. The work is organic and flowing, with a distinct color palette and recurring, multi-layered shapes that create ambiguous natural forms.

I work out of the Northrup King Building in the heart of the NE Minneapolis Arts District. The studio is open for visitors during First Thursdays and Open Studio Saturdays, by appointment and for special events including Art-A-Whirl in May and Art Attack in November.

About Jennifer

I am deeply inspired by the beauty and intelligence of the natural world and love to explore the interplay between form and space, structure and chaos through my artistic process. 

Stylistically, I am heavily influenced by the Abstract Expressionist movement, and the way I paint is very intuitive with an emphasis on the spontaneous action of painting.  The process is inextricable from the work itself, and not only informs the finished result, but also is a metaphor for the larger existential themes present in my work.

I believe deeply in the connection that is created between the artist, the artwork and the viewer.  The abstract compositions of these paintings ask the viewer to engage emotionally with the work to derive a personal sense of meaning.
